Team Lead, Implementation AU & NZ

We’re looking for an experienced, motivated leader to guide and scale our Implementation team in Sydney. The Implementation function is central to Adyen’s success—ensuring our large, strategic merchants are onboarded smoothly, with robust integrations that position them for growth. You’ll join a group of peers spread across Asia Pacific, collaborating on cutting-edge projects across online payments, In-Person Payments (IPP), marketplaces, and financial services, to help shape the future of our Implementation organization.

What you’ll do

  • Lead, Coach & Inspire: Manage and mentor a team of Implementation Managers, helping them excel at solution design, technical integrations, and client communication. Foster an inclusive, collaborative team environment with open communication and constructive feedback.
  • Drive Integration Success: Act as a sparring partner and escalation point for complex projects, ensuring merchants integrate quickly and effectively. When necessary, roll up your sleeves and tackle technical challenges alongside your team.
  • Scale & Innovate: Use data to identify opportunities for operational improvements and refine tools, processes, and best practices. Play a key role in global initiatives to expand the Implementation Management (IM) organization in size, quality, and scalability.
  • Collaborate Across Regions: Work closely with global teams—Product, Engineering, Commercial, and more—to deliver tailored solutions that meet each merchant’s needs. Expect opportunities to travel within APAC and beyond to support merchants and align with global colleagues.
  • Champion Operational Excellence: Define and track key performance indicators (e.g., project timelines, customer satisfaction) and continuously optimise how your team supports Adyen’s rapid growth.

Who you are

  • Seasoned Leader: You have at least four years of experience managing direct reports, preferably within technical consulting, project management, or implementation roles. You excel at coaching and performance management.
  • Customer-Centric: You’re adept at understanding business objectives and translating them into effective technical solutions. You create standout experiences for enterprise-level customers.
  • Technical & Consultative: You’re comfortable discussing APIs, architecture, and system design, while also communicating seamlessly with non-technical stakeholders. You have a proven track record of success with complex integration projects.
  • Data-Driven & Adaptable: You leverage data to make informed decisions, implementing the right tools and processes to ensure operational success. You thrive in a global, fast-paced environment and readily adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Collaborative & Hands-On: You foster teamwork, stepping in to remove roadblocks and solve challenges. You aren’t afraid to dive into details to drive projects forward.

Payments Experience (Nice to Have): Experience in the payments or fintech space is a plus but not a requirement.
