Examples of the duties:

  • Optimize clients’ tax liability and credit reporting to streamline the process and limit clients’ tax burdens
  • Electronically research tax issues and prepare position memos to be used during partner/client/tax agencies review
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state tax code changes relevant to our client base
  • Being a staff mentor and providing staff with a resource for questions including technical, procedural, and professional issues
  • Create and deliver tax presentations to partners, clients, and staff
  • Facilitating briefings to tax, accounting, and audit staff to keep the Firm abreast of new tax issues and incentives
  • Actively participate in business development and cultivating relationships to strengthen both yourself and the firm


Job Description:
Our Tax & Research Specialist will have experience researching, evaluating, and responding to client-specific questions to determine tax liabilities. Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations through research, while assessing their impact on clients and advising on tax strategies. Our people deliver the best-in-class advice and build long-lasting relationships.
Qualifications & Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or EA preferred, or actively seeking either credential
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in taxation services
  • Renewable fuels experience desired (extremely helpful, but not required)
  • Expertise in technical research and writing
  • Extensive experience with managing tax liabilities and tax credits
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with expertise in training and mentoring team members under tight deadlines or complex situations.
  • Exceptional client service and relationship management skills with effective, professional communication
  • Strong in problem-solving, analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and being detail-oriented
  • Can work independently but also work effectively with a team Knowledge of Microsoft Office including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, and Word

  • Hours are normally Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CST
