Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated, performance driven, knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Manager to be part of our expanding finance organization in Guadalajara as part of the Corporate Global Tax Team. The ideal candidate will oversee tax compliance, reporting, and planning for our operations in Mexico, requiring a deep understanding of Mexican tax laws and the ability to provide strategic tax advice to senior management. This role involves working directly with the Vice President of Global Tax, Mexico Managing Director, Legal Director and Mexico Controller, and collaborating with business units on tax matters and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the timely completion of the monthly and annual income tax returns and related documents in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- Responsible for the completion of monthly estimated income tax calculations and payments
- Manage monthly reporting of Value Added Tax (VAT) position and payment of any VAT due.
- Coordinate the completion of Information return on related party transactions (“DIM”)
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation to support tax positions and compliance efforts to ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Oversee tax compliance calendar and ensure timely interactions with finance team and with external advisors and tax return preparer.
- Manage compliance with electronic tax invoicing and reconciliations between book and tax reporting.
- Lead a variety of tax related special projects and tax research.
- Attend professional development and training sessions to stay current with tax legislative matters and technical issues.
- Engage with local leadership and Finance and Legal teams on tax advisory matters.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
- Spoken English, proficiency level.
- 5+ years of experience in a global corporate tax department or public accounting.
- Proven ability to manage the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual tax compliance and reporting requirements
- Deep understanding and experience with electronic invoicing and real-time reporting requirements in Mexico.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of SAP and Onesource Tax Provision (OTP) preferrred, applications from Microsoft Office. Strong Excel skills required
