What We Offer

Reporting directly to the U.S. Head of Tax as a valued team member this position is responsible for accounting and compliance tasks relative to all tax areas including sales and use, property, excise, and income.  It is expected that an ideal candidate will contribute to the efficiency of overall tax department operations with a focus on the future digitalization.

Major Responsibilities:

• Under the guidance of Tax Specialist(s), prepare reports, gather information and assist with the outsourcing of monthly sales and use, tax and VAT reporting, property tax filings and payments, prepare and organize unclaimed property documentation and other tax compliance
• Contribute to digitalization projects within the department including automation of manual tasks and connectivity, and maximizing the use of available AI resources
• Prepare and maintain detailed tax fixed asset accounting reports and listings for review by Tax Specialist and/or Head of Tax.
• Assist with quarterly and year-end tax accounting and closing procedures including preparation of detailed workpapers, account reconciliations, documentation, and accounting entries for review by Tax Specialist and/or Head of Tax.
• Assistance with the preparation of federal, state, and local income and franchise tax returns, estimates and extensions for review by Tax Specialist and/or Head of Tax.
• Tax compliance through the use of tax software applications such as Vertex and OneSource Tax Compliance.
• Research various tax topics using online tools such as Checkpoint and/or BNA.

What You Offer

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance or other closely related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Practical business experience, tax specific preferred.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and promote team approach
• Working knowledge of income tax accounting (including IFRS)
•  Prior experience with tax software applications including Vertex, OneSource Tax Compliance, tax research products (Checkpoint and/or BNA) preferred.
• Experience with SAP, and Power BI,

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to analyze and solve problems
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities
• General working knowledge of local tax law and regulations for a variety of taxes including sales and use, property, excise and income tax.
