The Role: We believe people are our most important asset, and managing our core talent and performance processes is critical to Morningstar's ability to empower investor success. As the Global Talent Planning Manager, you will support and advance our Talent Management function globally. Based in Chicago, you will be the key point of contact for all core talent and performance processes, designing and delivering these key processes to impact the entire organization. You will coordinate globally and work alongside a team of functional and regional experts, reporting to the Global Head of Talent Management.
This role is based in our Chicago office, and we are operating in a hybrid environment, where we are in-office 3 days/week.
Responsibilities:

  • Design and Deliver Core Processes: Develop and implement global end-to-end talent and performance management processes that drive Morningstar's strategic goals and amplify our culture and values. Processes include annual performance management and measurement, talent reviews and succession planning.
  • Global Coordination: Work with regional teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness of talent management practices and successful adoption of processes across all locations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders across our 7 business units and across our People & Culture team to understand and address talent management needs globally.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve talent management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • HRIS Fluency: Utilize Workday to manage and streamline talent management processes and integrate with 3rd party tools outside the system
  • Global Work Team: Coordinate a global work team to ensure alignment and execution of talent management initiatives.
  • Talent Management Leadership: Participate in the Talent Management leadership team to drive strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with global objectives.
  • Participate in Talent Management Programs: As a member of the talent management teams, you will help to support development initiatives partnering with our Learning & Development, Leadership Development and Career Transformation leaders.
  • Center of Expertise: Provide insights and industry perspective to strengthen Morningstar's alignment of our capabilities with best practices and leveraging cutting edge solutions


Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor degree in management or a behavioral science (e.g. Industrial or Organizational psychology, HR Management, or Psychology) is preferred. Master or MBA in similar fields or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience: 5-7 years in talent management or a related field.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, execution, planning, and project management.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate cross-culturally with diverse individuals and teams.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity and complexity to provide simple, expedient, and practical solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Workday or similar HRIS tools.

Base Salary Compensation Range
$94,280.00 - $169,720.00
Total Cash Compensation Range
$117,850.00 - 212,150.00 USD Annual
Morningstar's hybrid work environment gives you the opportunity to work remotely and collaborate in-person each week. While some positions are available as fully remote, we've found that we're at our best when we're purposely together on a regular basis, typically three days each week.
