Overview:
Manage candidate development primarily at the non-exempt level, but may be required to “plug in” and support higher level positions. Develop relationships with job seekers in person and via telephone to generate qualified candidates for multiple search assignments. Manage the candidate lifecycle including identifying, qualifying, interviewing and managing candidates to rapidly produce a best-in-class slate of talent to meet / exceed M&T’s internal client expectations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Actively work with line managers to develop the strategy to build talent pipelines, interview, qualify and recommend top candidates to the business line
- Actively and proactively attract a quality work force and maintain applicant flow in filling current and future staffing needs
- Negotiate, extend offers and effectively close the candidate
- Adhere to government regulations, organizational policies, and system/data integrity
- Build effective relationships with HR Business Partners, line management and employees
- Routinely provide insights into the competition for talent
- Attend job fairs and/or open houses
- Review resumes, and schedule and conduct screening interviews with preferred candidates
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The role is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with M&T management, employees and external applicants and community contacts.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree
1 year total relevant experience,
OR in lieu of a degree,
A combined minimum of 5 years higher education and/or work experience including a minimum of 1 year total relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of personal computers and related software programs with internet experience
Education and Experience Preferred:
Experience with Human Resources applicant tracking systems
Experience working for Human Resources within a corporate environment and contingent search firm.
Strong sales ability
Ability to manage multiple openings simultaneously
Sound experience showing fast response time, consistency and success
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
Strong decision making ability
Ability to function in a high volume, fast-paced environment
