Our Opportunity

We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a Tactical Buyer to join our Thales UK Procurement function. As a Tactical Buyer you will manage the transactional procurement process from Procurement Requisition (PR) to Procurement Order (PO).

What the role has to offer:

• Effective and accurate processing of orders from purchase to payment (P2P)
• Creation and execution of Purchase Orders and their subsequent delivery to required technical and quality specifications, contractual conditions and total acquisition cost, supplier performance and relationship management
• Timely and accurate acquisition of products and services for Thales UK, to ensure all requests and information is correctly received and understood
• Timely resolution of issues, incidents and complaints (such as non-conformity, supplier returns, supplier performance issues, delayed deliveries, PO queries, invoices and payment queries etc.)
• Executing all activities in accordance with Chorus processes, including monitoring inventory and order book levels, work queues, lead times, unmatched invoices, supplier payments, CAPAs and Internal and External supplier audits
• Issuing RFI/RFQs in support of business operations, programme and bid requirement
• Monitoring and improving supplier performance and escalate where necessary to Category / Suppler Performance Management and to participate and provide input in supplier reviews (QBRs)
• Identifying and delivering opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance and improved cash management through effective supplier negotiation and/or supplier selection

About you

Ideally, you’ll:

• Be proficient in working with Microsoft Excel
• Have previous experience and demonstrated success working within Procurement
• Have proven experience in working within a fast-paced environment
• Have the ability to manage multiple suppliers and products
• Excellent Stakeholder Management skills are essential for this role.
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
• An adequate (but not specialist) understanding of technical and non-technical requirements.
• Be delivery oriented while ensuring the budget and all contractual commitments are met.
• Have the ability to plan ahead and solve challenging operational issue
