EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer in our Hughes Network Systems division. This role is a technical member of our Core Operations Systems Support group this role will be expected to provide support to operations production deployments. This includes system design, system and network buildouts, storage deployment and administration, virtualization engineering, Domain Name System administration, and Operating System troubleshooting and sustaining support. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.
Responsibilities:

• Maintain the production environment as part of a team that supports North American and International Information Systems.
• Deploy, manage, and sustain various operating systems of both Unix and Windows varieties.
• Install, manage, and sustain large Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage environments for production data.
• Assist with Network deployments and troubleshooting to resolve active production issues and facilitate new integrations into production environments.
• Support and Solutions engineering for multiple Virtual (VMware and OpenShift KVM) environments.
• Support data and system backups for all production systems.
• Support 24/7 on-call on a staff rotation.
• On-Call support for production issues as needed.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineer, or related technical field
• 4+ Experience with Linux Server operating system deployment, administration, and task automation.
• 4+ years of network administration

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preferred experience in Windows Server operating system deployment, administration, and solutions engineering as well as Active Directory administration understanding.
• Strong independent work ethic and ability to lead/drive projects.
• Storage concepts (NAS, SAN)
• Experience with Ansible and Ansible Tower
• Experience with VRealize Operations Manager, VCenter, and related VMware products.
• Netapp Clustered On-Tap experience.
• Scripting Knowledge with Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell
• Understanding of BIND DNS and Unix authentication (PAM)
• Experience with Infoblox DNS/IPAM
• Knowledge of Windows Active Directory and DNS
• Horizon Virtual Desktop or Azure Virtual Desktop administration experience

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $93,500.00 - $117,000.00
