What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for someone to...

  • Work as a valued member of the Systems Infrastructure team, help drive the team’s mission forward: 
  • Build automated self-service tooling and infrastructure based on proven technologies.
  • Work directly with many of the core components of our global voice, messaging and emergency network.
  • Solve complex challenges, automate difficult yet repetitive tasks and coach our NOC team to efficiently support the platform operationally. 
  • Swiftly implements fixes to mitigate customer impacting issues during off hours.
  • Research, plan, propose the better long term solution to be implemented so everyone sleeps better.

What You'll Do:

  • Advance our technology stacks, automation and configuration management
  • Design scalable and resilient systems to keep pace with company growth
  • Improve efficiency and overall system performance
  • Administration and on-call responsibilities for critical backend infrastructure
  • Harden the platform against security threats and resource contention
  • Work with our product owner
  • Help respond & prevent incidents impacting the core platforms
  • Participate in the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process
  • Spearhead innovation by bringing new ideas back to the team

What You Need:

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a related field

Experience:  

  • 3-5+ years of experience running systems at large scale:  
  • Mastering architecture configuration and administration in one or more of the following is required
    • Storage : NetApp
    • Virtualization : VMware ecosystem
    • Hardware : Cisco UCS ecosystem
    • Load balancers : F5, HAProxy
  • Strong experience in automation technologies with an emphasis on Ansible and Terraform
  • Excellent knowledge of basic services : DNS, NTP, …
  • Basic understanding of Docker, OpenShift and Kubernetes

Skills:

  • Experience with metrics and monitoring applications such as DataDog, Elasticsearch, LogicMonitor, etc.
  • Strong experience with automation technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, etc.
  • The Linux operating system is no mystery to you
  • Familiarity with source control, automation and deployment tools (Git / GitHub)
  • Familiarity with other languages and scripting languages, specifically Python and bash scripts
  • Work autonomously in a global team
