System Engineer – Modeler
JOB SUMMARY / Primary Roles and Responsibilities
Leidos is looking for a System Engineer - Modeler to join a high performing agile team using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology. The program includes capability modernization, legacy system integration, Agile SW development and modernization, cyber security, systems security compliance and certification, systems engineering, COTS integration, test and evaluation, implementation, and operations and maintenance (O&M) activities. The selected individual will work collaboratively with a range of customer technical and senior leadership representatives to execute engineering discovery; develop the multi-year solution; and ensure an integrated approach is utilized to meet customer mission objectives. She/he will help guide technical teams through successful development of a large-scale, highly complex capability development as part of an integrated system development effort.
The selected individual will work with a team of Model Based Systems Engineers utilizing DODAF and System Modeling Language (SysML) methodology. They must effectively engage and brief various individuals to include company POCs, customers, partners, and subcontractors in the effort to develop a comprehensive architecture artifact. The selected individual must have strong interpersonal communication skills necessary to inspire and successfully work with various diverse, Agile development teams. She/he must be team-oriented and focused on supporting the strategic goals of our customer.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or a related field, and at least 8 years of related experience. Additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a degree.
- TS/SCI with polygraph.
- Must have in-depth experience in one or more of the following areas: system architecture, design and development, requirements analysis, data flow design/analysis, network design/implementation, testing, technical system documentation.
- Must have experience with or very strong familiarity with System Engineering Modeling tools and Model Based Systems Engineering utilizing DODAF and System Modeling Language (SysML) methodology.
- Must have experience with legacy integration and developing plans for continuous modernization.
- Must have experience interfacing with government customer and contractor personnel in formulating, reviewing, and effectively executing task plans and completing deliverable items in accordance with approved plans.
- Must have quality management experience.
- Must have a proven track record of effectively organizing, monitoring, tracking, and managing project tasks, meeting timelines, and attaining established goals and milestones.
- Must have demonstrated hands-on work experience creating and delivering written and verbal project communications, to include recurring project status updates, ad hoc technical updates, and impromptu informational programmatic updates.
- Must have in-depth experience collaborating with technical staff and customers in forming strategies to improve performance and reliability.
- Must have experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and quickly and effectively resolving issues and adjusting to shifting priorities.
- Must have experience mentoring staff for the purpose of maintaining high levels of performance and positive morale.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 5 years of direct work experience with Systems Engineering Modeling tools.
- At least 5 or more years of experience working with SAFe for large systems development.
- Experience simulating system engineering models.
- Experience/familiarity with DODAF 2.0.
- Experience transitioning legacy systems into new architectures.
- Experience communicating with and briefing executive levels.

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
