Join us as a Systems Business Analyst II in our Data Protection Team!
The Systems Business Analyst II in the Data Protection team works with technical and business teams across the global BBH organization to execute projects and programs in support of the Firm’s data protection initiatives. The Systems Business Analyst II participates in all phases of the systems development life cycle – from project scoping, planning and requirements definition to analysis, issue resolution, testing, training and implementation.
Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from leading small to mid-size projects to assisting project managers on larger more complex initiatives. The individual is responsible for defining and documenting business systems requirements and ensuring technology solutions enhance and support the business operations while meeting data protection requirements. The Systems Business Analyst II leads effective meetings to gather, validate and document business requirements, as well as current and future state workflows. The individual analyzes data, researches issues, and contributes to design solutions. In addition, the Systems Business Analyst may lead and/or participate in the user acceptance testing, training, and implementation of new systems and applications. The Systems Business Analyst II is customer-focused, results-oriented and understands the impact of the project on the organization as a whole.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
Business/Systems Analysis
- Develop clear, concise project documentation, which requires proficiency in interviewing skills, workflow analysis, dataflow diagramming, screen design, etc.
- Facilitate the definition of functional requirements by working with systems partners and business users
- Translate and present project concepts into effective visual images and presentations which clarify design elements and issues for both business and technical audiences.
- Translate system workflows into system configuration
- Recognize patterns in complex information and identify key issues.
- Identify gaps between business requirements and existing or proposed design solutions
- Perform detailed data analysis to support root cause definition and design solutions
- Participate in development of test strategy and planning; lead and/or participate in test execution and document results
Project Execution
- Assist the Project Manager in defining project scope
- Assist in the preparation and tracking of project plans, including work breakdown structure, deliverables and milestones, and deadlines
- Ensure project methodology is followed and proper documentation is completed within BBH standards
- Maintain issue log; drive issues to satisfactory resolution within project scope and schedule
- Identify, mediate, resolve and eliminate miscommunications between business and technical project team members.
- Produce user guides and conduct user training as needed
Project Portfolio Support
- Assist Project Manager in development and tracking of portfolio of projects, including planning, resourcing, status tracking and reporting, vendor management, communication, etc.
- Work with Systems partners and business user to assist in project prioritization and planning process
Qualifications Include:
- BA/BS degree and/or related work experience
- 5+ years of experience in technical systems projects, such as system upgrades, conversions and enhancements, preferably at a financial services company
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills required, including proficiency in Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables, and graphs
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, sound judgment
- Takes ownership and follows through on tasks; results oriented
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
- Creative thinking; intellectual curiosity
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all audiences
- Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies, including all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle
- Ability to create presentations using software such as Microsoft PowerPoint
- Ability to use standard desktop tools effectively (Outlook, Microsoft Office)
- Ability to analyze current workflows and identify opportunities for improvement
- Exposure to project work and project planning, as well as project management software
- Working knowledge of Jira and/or Space ObServer a plus
Salary Range
$120,000 to 170,000 (Jersey City)
BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
