The System Administrator is responsible for maintaining the reliability, security, and performance of the organization's computer systems and networks. The System Administrator will work closely with the organization's IT and management teams to ensure the smooth operation of the organization's computer systems, resolve technical issues, and implement new technologies as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Install, configure, and maintain the organization's computer systems and networks, including servers, workstations, and mobile devices. 

  • Monitor the organization's computer systems and networks for technical issues and resolve these issues in a timely and effective manner. 

  • Implement and maintain security measures, such as firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption, to protect the organization's computer systems and networks. 

  • Manage user accounts, including creating new accounts, resetting passwords, and revoking access as needed. 

  • Perform software and hardware upgrades, as needed, to ensure that the organization's computer systems and networks remain up-to-date and secure. 

  • Develop and maintain documentation for the organization's computer systems and networks, including network diagrams, user manuals, and technical specifications. 

  • Work closely with the organization's IT team to ensure that the organization's computer systems and networks are aligned with the organization's technology needs and are effective in supporting the organization's operations. 

  • Stay current with emerging technologies, including new operating systems, hardware, and software, and make recommendations for adopting new technologies as needed. 

Qualifications: 

Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and 5 years IT experience is preferred. Will consider candidates with 15 years experience with network and/or server administration. 

Experience: 5+ years of experience in network and server administration. Experience providing maintenance and operation of the computer system and network through installation of new hardware and software on servers and network wide.  

Technical Knowledge: Strong technical background, with a good understanding of computer systems, networks, and security technologies. Experience supporting MDM device management systems, administration of shared resources, Horizon view, Exchange management and backup management is required.

 

Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues. 

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to accurately perform routine tasks and maintain documentation. 

Time Management: Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. 

Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco, VMWare, Microsoft certifications are highly desirable.

Pay Range:Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
