The Role:
The SWIFT Operations team are responsible for the day-to-day running of a suite of SWIFT message processing platforms that are business critical to our customers and pivotal to our growth. The team’s core responsibilities include responding to operational issues, deploying UAT and Production changes, capacity management, and implementing automation and monitoring across the complex technology estate.
This team draws on a wide range of technical skills required to operate SWIFT platforms including an expert knowledge of SWIFT Alliance, knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) principles, and technical capabilities to operate Windows and SQL environments.
The ideal candidate will have real world experience working in a global operation, be fanatical about repeatable process and automation, and understand the challenging choices needed to create scale, resilience, security and availability. Further, this role requires a business-savvy individual who can manage complex situations with stakeholders and clients.
How you'll contribute:
As a SWIFT Technical Consultant, you'll play a key role in scaling and improving our technical capabilities to drive higher service availability, repeatability, and performance across our SWIFT estate. In collaboration with team members, you will be expected to deliver technical, process and organisational changes and improvements in line with the vision set out above.
Alerting and Monitoring:
- Scope, configure and regularly review alerting and monitoring to ensure rapid notification and resolution of production incidents.
SWIFT Incident Management:
- Service restoration during Incidents
- Create, validate and update service recovery runbooks.
- Collaborate with application experts to deliver processes that facilitate “one-click” service recovery capabilities.
Platform SME support:
- Provide SME level support where needed for cases to ensure the highest level of customer delight.
- SWIFT Change
- Configure and deliver new customers and services to the production SWIFT platforms.
Key Operations:
- Planning, testing and deployment of key Operational tasks such as: security patching, upgrades, Business continuity testing.
Platform Availability & Continuous Improvement:
- Drive improvements in the SWIFT environment
- Ensure clear and accurate documentation around processes and procedures
- Always Available Platform
- Participate in the out of hours “on call” rota to ensure industry-leading incident response is in place for any production issues that may arise.
What will make you Successful:
- Formal training in Computer Science or IT
- Knowledge of SWIFT Alliance Products (SWIFT Certified Specialist)
- Server administration experience on a Windows Server
- A strong desire to work in a technical and fast paced environment.
- Ability to learn quickly (esp. in a technical environment).
- High attention to detail
