In this new position, You will be part of a software engineering team with focus on our surface guided motion management product of the optical monitoring and identification solutions portfolio. Our aim is to provide customers with products supporting various use cases in diagnostic imaging and treatment delivery processes, such as treatment room and patient setup, surface-guided positioning, and motion management to enhance the reliability and safety of radiotherapy treatments. We closely collaborate with other engineering locations of Varian, mainly at our R&D sites in Switzerland and Germany.
In a team of highly competent software engineers, you will develop software solutions in close collaboration with your colleagues across the Varian sites, with product management, with supporting departments and partners. This position oversees the entire software development and maintenance cycle for end user applications, ranging from analysis, design, implementation, documentation, verification thru debugging and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop and maintain optical monitoring and identification software applications and services for radiotherapy systems.
Define and implement test procedures for module, integration and system tests of these applications and components.
Provide all necessary documentation related to this area of responsibility.
Interest in gathering domain knowledge in the areas of real-time position management and optical tracking systems in radiotherapy.
Required qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of related experience or Master’s Degree with 3 years of proven work experience in software engineering
Strong proficiency and current knowledge of modern C++ standards and specifications
Strong proficiency and current knowledge of test automation frameworks
Experience in all phases of software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, architecture, design, implementation, code review, testing, and release
Software development experience in Linux environment
Thorough understanding of software architecture and software systems
Strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking
Strong understanding of computer science principles (data structures, algorithms, complexity, threading, etc.)
Fluency in written and verbal communication in English
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
It’s an advantage if you have:
Knowledge of Healthcare/Medical Product Development
Knowledge of Qt framework
Knowledge of Linux
