As the Sustainment Program Quality Lead for the Tactical Air Product Line, you will be responsible for ensuring BAE Systems returns compliant product to our customers. Requirements flow down and compliance will play a significant part of every day life. An understanding of how returns are handled and their differences and similarities to production are important to your success in the role.
The Sustainment Program Quality Lead will be the primary interface with the customer and the Defense Contracts Management Agency (DCMA) for product acceptance and "sell-off." Attention to detail for hardware and documentation records play a critical part of the product acceptance process. Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and collaborative program team environment is a must!
Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment, and conducts quality assurance tests. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality methodologies and utilize quality tools to help drive continuous improvement.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years work experience
Experience with the following:

  • Manufacturing of complex electronic assemblies
  • Customer Requirements and flow down into program execution and tasking
  • Presentation of product to customer for acceptance/ "sell off"
  • Preparation of documentation packages for customer review
  • Hardware Inspection Criteria
  • Processing of non-conforming material and Material Review Board activities
  • Quality Auditing
  • Configuration Control and Hardware Configuration Reporting
  • Leading Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities

Skills Required:

  • Ability to read, interpret and understand a drawing, print and specification
  • Communication in a clear, concise and professional manner with multiple customers in different organizations, functions and the US Government
  • Demonstrated Leadership of a team
  • Interpersonal communication is verbal and written formats
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications including word, excel, power point
  • Ability to learn BAE Systems software and data management programs
  • Root Cause and Corrective Action Tools and demonstrated use
  • Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplined program team
  • Ability to work independently with little to no oversight
  • Producing high quality work in a face paced, dynamic work environment


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Preferred experience:

  • Prior Quality Assurance Engineering Responsibility
  • Sustainment and Field Return Hardware processing
  • Program process definition and documentation
  • Rework and Repair processing
  • Support to Production manufacturing
  • Lean Six Sigma tools
  • Green Belt/ Black Belt certification
  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Course and/or Lead Auditor Certification Preferred
  • Hands on experience in a Defense Contracting Environment
  • First Article Inspection (FAI) AS9102
  • Quality Management Systems (AS9100)
  • Active secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
