THE JOB:

Become a part of the excitement at The Cosmopolitan as a Surveillance Operator! In this key role, you’ll collaborate with partner departments to help deliver unforgettable guest experiences while ensuring a fair, safe, and secure environment for everyone. Uphold our commitment to excellence by enforcing company policies, procedures, and gaming regulations, and play a vital role in promoting accountability throughout our world-class operation.


STARTING RATE: $27 an hour


THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • CCTV Operation: Utilize closed-circuit television (CCTV) and Digital Video Management System (VMS) equipment to monitor casino activities, review footage, download still images, and archive audio and video evidence.

  • Active Monitoring: Proactively observe all casino areas, including Table Games, Casino Cage, Count Room, Slots, Electronic Table Games, Poker, and Race & Sports Book, to ensure adherence to policies, detect suspicious activity, and deter fraud and theft.

  • Incident Reporting: Review video footage and prepare written reports on incidents such as guest complaints, lost property, procedural errors, risk management issues, theft, and variances. Share relevant information via email with sister properties as instructed.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of gaming regulations, game rules, and company policies through ongoing training and professional development. Actively participate in assigned training programs.

  • Advanced Monitoring Tools: Operate facial recognition software, license plate recognition systems, panic alarms, and access control systems as required.

  • Player Evaluations: Conduct evaluations of casino players for advantage play and suspicious activities through live observation and game evaluation software.

  • Data Analysis: Identify trends and abnormalities by analyzing data through various software applications and investigating anomalies.

  • Collaboration with Authorities: Cooperate with local Gaming Authorities and assist law enforcement agencies as necessary. Testify in court on behalf of the company when required, maintaining strict confidentiality of surveillance operations.

  • Guest Experience Collaboration: Work with leadership and partner departments to enhance the guest experience.

  • Non-Gaming Monitoring: Assist in monitoring various non-gaming areas of the property as directed.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational experience is required.

  • Surveillance Experience: 1 year of experience working with Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) technology, including monitoring casino activities to ensure compliance with established protocols.

  • Gaming Knowledge: Strong understanding of casino operations, including Table Games, Slots, Poker, and Casino Cage protocols, with the ability to identify suspicious behavior and prevent fraud and theft.

  • Technical Proficiency: Experience navigating various software platforms, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, for reporting and communication purposes.

  • Comfort in Work Environment: Ability to work in a confined or communal environment, remaining seated for the majority of the shift, while maintaining focus and attention to detail.
