Summary Generated by Built In

Markforged (NYSE: MKFG) is reinventing the $1 trillion+ worldwide manufacturing industry so that engineers can build anything they imagine while reducing environmental impact. With the market’s most robust 3D printing hardware, software and material solution, a world-class team, great customers and abundant capital, we’re well placed to continue our growth and innovation.

Join our highly motivated supply chain team as we deliver thousands of advanced composite and metal 3D printers to our customers around the world. We strive to manage the complexity of our global supply chain with the precision of a small special-forces team. We move fast, appreciate creative solutions, and adapt to our hyper-growing business needs.

As our team’s planner, you are at the center of the action. You will be responsible for ensuring we have the right material at the right time at the right place. We have hundreds of SKUs sourced and assembled from various partners. Your challenge is to plan material production, movements, and stocking to support both internal factories, external partners, and fulfillment warehouses.

In this role you will:

  • At least 3 years of in depth working and execution knowledge with the planning functions of a major ERP system (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Sage, Dynamix AX)
  • Understand constraint based scheduling tools, including MRP
  • Understanding the flow of material in a moderately complex manufacturing environment, and the challenges that come with it
  • Understand best practices for planning and purchasing (i.e. purchase order cycle)
  • Calculating the business cases between different fulfillment network strategies
  • Understand different inventory optimization models (ROP, Kanban etc)
  • Strong knowledge of SC metrics and the different levers and tradeoffs to achieve them
  • Experience with a sales and operations planning (S&OP) cycle

What we look for:

  • Impeccable integrity and character
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize in the face of overwhelming complexity
  • Clear communication skills for both internal teams and external partners
  • Adept at Excel, google sheets, and a variety of enterprise / collaboration software
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, well adapted, motivation of a self-start, and able to function independently
  • Enjoy working with functional teams to solve planning and logistics challenges
  • Able to detect subtle demand pattern changes, come up with a plan, execute it, and course correct as necessary
  • Curiosity to understand what is driving our demand both at a macro and micro level
  • Enjoys lots of data, but knows how to organize it into actionable insights
  • A healthy sense of humor for when plans don’t go as planned
  • A relentless desire to improve processes

Important Note:

Although we list what we generally look for, we are very likely missing other attributes and skills that you have that could make you a great fit, but they are not currently listed. Research has shown this especially applies to women and other marginalized groups, who tend to apply if they check 100% of every box, versus men who apply if they hit roughly 60%. The point we’re getting at, it doesn’t hurt to take a chance and apply!
