In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our newer Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility in Clayton, NC sits on 825,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art equipment, and houses the Fermentation, Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisk's innovative oral products. The Position
Secure supply of components produced by contract manufacturers located in the US for further production in the Novo Nordisk supply chain. Ensure supply chain understanding of how our contract manufacturer products link into the overall Novo Nordisk processes to ensure decisions are based on holistic supply chain assessment. Knowledgeable of supply & demand planning, supply chain management and SAP interfaces and a keen interest in ensuring supply of product to Novo Nordisk patients.

Reports to Associate Manager/Manager/Senior Manager.
Essential Functions
- Purchase planning and coordination with US contract manufacturers to ensure a timely and balanced purchase plan in the short-term horizon (0-12 months), along with following up on purchase orders, delivery dates, and volumes through frequent calls with the contract manufacturer
- Establish and maintain operational safety stock levels related to the agreed service level towards US assembly sites. Monitor the inventory levels and resolve on imbalances
- Conduct effectively weekly coordination with GBS DPS and MPS planners on demand outlook
- Align optimized sourcing plan towards the assembly site under guidance of network planner
- Manage inbound flow including handling, reviewing, and approving towards internal and external warehouses and production sites within FPM and External Supply
- Plan and execute prioritization of sampling and QC analysis of delivered orders according to criticality
- Manage forecast and operational scrap process to ensure right provisions are made, extensions are initiated, and physical scrap is handled
- Oversee Shipping process in collaboration with contract manufacturer, NN stakeholders and assigned forwarder
- Maintain high level of system accuracy of master data, transactional data and BoM
- Maintain effective relationship and coordination with internal GCMD areas, global supply chain and SC planning functions as well as downstream internal and external production sites within FPM
- Actively participate in Operational Business Reviews (OBR) in collaboration with operational manager for contract manufacturer oversight
- Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Other accountabilities as assigned
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or relevant field of study from an accredited university required or equivalent combination of education & experience
- May consider an Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or relevant field of study from an accredited university with a minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in supply chain planning required
- May consider a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of seven (7) years progressively responsible experience in supply chain planning required
- Minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible experience in supply chain planning required
- Professional Certification through APICS (CSCP or CPIM) or ISM (CPSCM) preferred
- Experience in one or more of the following areas required
- Supply Planning
- Demand Planning
- Supply Chain Management
- Pharmaceutical or other FDA regulated industry
- Demonstrated experience with supply/demand planning, purchase and production planning required
- Demonstrated experience with planning systems i.e. SAP ECC/APO, Tableau, Scenario based planning tools required
- Knowledge within systematic problem solving & acumen for process optimization plus
- Sold analytical skills preferred
- Ability to identify solutions that are robust & will ensure the correct quality level preferred
- Excellent proficiency in communication skills; both written & verbal required
- Demonstrate action-oriented behaviors required
- Collaboration with colleagues & stakeholders across functions & departments required
- Work in structured manner & take ownership of assignments required
- Result-oriented & take pride in delivering on milestones preferred
