York Space Systems has an opening for a full-time Supply Chain Manager.  This position will report to the Supply Chain Management Lead and will be responsible for supporting the supply chain function and managing a variety of subcontracting vehicles.  This position is responsible for managing our Spacecraft Mission supply chain by building long and short-term healthy partnerships with quality suppliers that deliver reliable state of the art components to meet the needs of each unique customer mission.  This role will work closely with our engineering teams and program managers to drive strategic supplier decisions and execution to ensure the success of York Space Systems. 
The reporting line may change as the company grows and scales.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the program team and supplier in preparation of subcontracting documents throughout the agreement lifecycle.  Includes fact gathering and strategy formation; drafting and editing; collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; execution management. 
  • Negotiate, draft and edit subcontracts and other vendor agreements, both independently and under the supervision of the CL&AO or other senior executives.
  • Optimize and manage standard company subcontracting vehicles for long-term success.
  • Review requests for proposal and other bid documents for subcontracting issues and guide the proposal team to ensure that compliant and accurate proposals are submitted.
  • Liaise and negotiate with supplier contracting professionals.
  • Perform responsibilities both independently and in collaboration with the program management team, engineering team, other members of the department, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage supplier execution of subcontracts which may include weekly reporting, supplier site visits, and partnering with strategic suppliers to resolve issues that may arise during program execution. 
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholder status and issue resolution throughout the life of the subcontract.
  • Support document control team by managing subcontracting records in accordance with internal procedures.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The ideal successful candidate will be detail-oriented, resourceful, and have prior subcontract review and negotiation experience.
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing and superior analytical skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required with five (5) years of experience or Juris Doctor degree with three (3) years’ minimum relevant experience reviewing, editing and negotiating contracts. 
  • Strong facility with Word, Adobe Acrobat, Teams and other contract preparation and management tools. 
  • Ability to communicate and work productively with a broad range of individuals, from early careerists to senior executives.
  • Willingness and ability to perform routine tasks as well as to take on more involved or sophisticated projects.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and ability to maintain confidences, as with sensitive strategic or attorney-client privileged information.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Experience in program or project management.
