Under general direction and in conformance with Divisional policies, procedures and objectives, plans and controls the production and warehousing activities and the inventory investment of a branch plant.  Plans, develops necessary procedures and directs the activities for which responsible.  Provides analysis, counsel, advice and recommendations where appropriate to assist plant in achieving goals and objectives.

How you will do it:

  • Analyzes customer orders and sales forecasts to prepare plant production and inventory plans.
  • Reviews actual plant performance against sales and production plans.  Recommends corrective action(s) to bring results in line with plans or recommends change in production and inventory plans to recognize differences between actual and forecasts.
  • Directs and monitors production control activities to assure that balanced inventories are maintained and that production and purchase releases are scheduled to meet production and inventory investment objectives.
  • Plans and directs the activities for which responsible such as Shipping, Warehousing, Production Scheduling, and Inventory Control (raw materials and finished goods)
  • May be responsible for directing purchasing activity for expense items.  Maintains contact with all vendors of material and components to insure uninterrupted supply.  Resolves discrepancies concerning items that fail to meet in-coming quality standards.

  • Prepares capacity planning analyses.  Recommends purchase of additional capacity where necessary.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining the integrity of computerized production/inventory control systems.  Supervises the operation of such systems.  Insures data integrity by developing systematic cycle counting to maintain accuracy.
  • Directs warehousing activities and insures adherence to governmental safety and health regulations and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Performs special assignments and analyses as directed by Plant Manager or Division Manager, Production Control.

What we look for:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical or business field.  
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment.  
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience successfully supervising a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clear and concise information to varied levels within the organization

Preferred:

  • SAP experience desired; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; CPIM preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrable knowledge with MRP master data set-up, production versions, routings, warehouse management, inventory management, production activities, and RF transactions
