Data Quality Assessment and Improvement Initiative
Objective: Conduct a thorough review and data quality assessment of Key attributes within the Supplier Master and develop a rules-based Process / Tool (report) to capture Data Defects within our Oracle EBS system
Key Tasks:
- Audit the quality of data currently in the system (missing information, inconsistent formats etc..).
- Create a data profiling report to capture the Data Defects based on defined rules with Lumentum Data Analytics tools (by Type of Supplier, Country Located etc.).
- Implement Master Data changes under Manager supervision (e.g., correcting data discrepancies).
- Develop a template for ongoing Master Data Defect reporting that can be expanded to other area within Master Data Management control.
Outcome:
- The intern will help to improve the reliability and consistency of Supplier Master data.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel or similar tools.
- Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master's Degree with preferred major in Data Science, Supply Chain Management or related fields
- Strong foundation in data analysis and data management principles.
- Proficiency in tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or basic analytics software.
- Understanding of data quality concepts (e.g., completeness, consistency, accuracy).
- Ability to learn new tools and systems quickly.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to be on-site 3 days/week in San Jose office.
Pay Range: $20.19 - $45.14/hour
