As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Evaluate the capabilities of potential suppliers
  • Assess the manufacturability of new product designs and collaborate with engineering and suppliers to enhance manufacturability
  • Oversee product and process development with suppliers
  • Support suppliers in the development of effective manufacturing processes
  • Review prototype and production part quality documentation submitted by suppliers and provide feedback
  • Issue corrective action requests to suppliers and support the resolution process
  • Assist Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams with the analysis and disposition of suspect supplier materials
  • Promote continuous improvement throughout the supply base by utilizing quality and lean manufacturing tools
  • Enhance supplier quality processes, including supplier assessments, management, part approval, and corrective actions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • At least 3 years of experience in Quality, Supplier Quality, or Manufacturing, preferably in automotive, aviation, or medical device industries, with a focus on electro-mechanical components and sensors
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and developing/improving quality systems
  • Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, 8D, Pareto Charts, Regression Analysis, ANOVA, DOE, Fishbone Analysis, Red-X, Is/Is Not
  • Familiarity with quality analysis and control tools, including Process Flow Diagrams, Process FMEAs, Process Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and Process Capability
  • Experience with manufacturing processes, including machining, stamping, extrusions, injection molding, and electromechanical assemblies
  • Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems such as ISO 9000 and IATF 16949
  • Relevant certifications such as ASQ, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Six Sigma Black Belt are a plus

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
