SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER - EL SEGUNDO, CA
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in identifying and mitigating risks in product development by employing tools such as PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, PPAP, and Control Plans at suppliers. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and auditing supplier manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to quality systems and standards. You will also be heavily involved in the AS9102 First Article Inspection activities supporting Certification.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drives processes to identify and manage risk in product development, (PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, PPAP and Control Plans, etc.) with suppliers.
- Drive process improvements to improve supplier development.
- Review and audit supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems.
- Implement and monitor the part qualification and certification process with selected suppliers
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to suppliers to solve process and product quality issues and improve internal and outgoing quality performance.
- Coordinate cross-functionally to address supply base non-conformances and develop recovery plans.
- Manage the Supplier audit schedules to assure compliance with requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or STEM related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Quality Systems Administration with focus on supplier management or Supplier Quality
- Expert knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
- Must be able to travel 20-30% both national and international.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6+ years of experience in Quality Systems Administration; experienced in Quality system auditing and customer/supplier audits.
- Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate best practices for quality solutions
- Certifications in quality management and aerospace industry standards, such as AS9100 Lead Auditor or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
- Experience conducting root cause investigations using Root Cause Analysis tools (Fault tree, Cause and effect diagram/ fishbone / etc.)
