   Main  Responsibilities

  • Establishes operational diagnosis utilizing maturity assessment tools with suppliers on site.
  • Proposes and defines Supplier Development and Maturity action plan that must be aligned with main Thales internal stakeholders.
  • Drive systematic changes in supplier maturity and performance with continuous improvement techniques, structured interventions, risk mitigation and adapted coaching.
  • Implements training programs on behalf of the supplier and provides specific trainings based on diagnosis input and operational needs.
  • Act as a conduit to improve the overall interface between Thales and the supplier by putting in place practices such as: suppliers Milk Run, Continuous pull flow and progressively advanced Lean and Agile Practices.
  • Drive pre-assessment diagnosis for new potential suppliers along with participation in risk mitigation plan with key stakeholders, propose specific action plan and lead the implementation as required.
  • Facilitates and encourages Suppliers to deploy Factory 4.0 concepts
  • Coach the supplier on the implementation of the best supply chain and quality processes (training, project management, lean management, visual management, etc.)
  • Act as a reference expert at Group level for the various supplier development tools and processes and coach the Supplier Performance network in the implementation of these tools and processes.
  • Hold regular progress meetings and on-site visits with the supplier to drive the maturity improvement and development plans.
  • Develop Supplier Development Dashboard and establish dedicated KPIs to share the status and maturity rating of the suppliers.

   Qualification and Skill-Set

  • Engineering degree or equivalent with an industrial world experience of 10-15 years, (quality, procurement, production, supply chain, etc.).
  • Experience of audit and operational experience in industry and supply chain will be an added advantage.

Technical skills :

- Industrial logistics :S&OP (Sales and Operations), MRPII (Material resources planning) and Supply chain management

- Project management : organization , coordination, planning, reporting and risk management

- Quality : Problem solving, 8 D, PDCA (Plan Do Check Act), FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), ISO and AQAP standards

- Lean: 5S, KAIZEN, VSM (Value stream Mapping), continuous levelled pull flow

- Good notions of companies organizations and systemic analysis

- Notions of Factory 4.0 concepts

- Ability to diagnose and intervene in a wide variety of environments and fields.

Soft Skills :

- Ability to interact with a wide variety of actors from different cultures and interests.

- Leadership: ability to involve supplier stakeholders (top and middle management, field staff).

- Behaviors: proactivity, team spirit, perseverance, rigor, culture of result, curiosity, good interpersonal skills and sense of compromise.

- Respect of the rules of ethics in accordance with the values of the group.

Communication :

- Good capacity both in a team and in public in front of a large audience. His/her speech must be “self-adaptive”.

- Ability to express clearly Thales requirements and culture.

- Capacity to report complex matters simply.
