Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will lead a team of 3 salary Manufacturing Engineers and 6-9 hourly Engineering Technicians, providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure the team meets project goals, improves processes, and maintains a safe working environment.
Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing technical team across multiple sites in Arizona and Michigan, and report to senior leadership.
  • The position is expected to be based in Mesa, Arizona with occasional travel to Michigan.
  • Ensure a proper development of the production concept according to customer and internal needs with focus on flow optimization (Product Flow, Parts Flow, People Flow)
  • Layout Planning and up to date ness of the "digital twin"
  • Assembly Process Planning: Ensure an optimized bill of process and sequence of worksteps, ensure efficient use of manpower through proper line balancing, provide up to date Work instructions to the production team
  • Equipment Planning: Provide CAPEX budget and content and manage CAPEX budget, Create technical RFQs for equipment, Drive the technical Quote review and ensure that the quotes are matching our requirements. Ensure that equipment is purchased, installed according to program milestones. Ensure that all documentation, training is handed over and that with start of use also spare parts are available and purchased.
  • Maintenance Planning: Develop maintenance strategies for production equipment and tools, facility and infrastructure related equipment, and plan properly in SAP PM. Track uptime and maintenance costs over time, and drive the equipment renewal in case of too high maintenance costs or downtimes.
  • Continuous Improvement / Kaizen: Drive the continuous improvement of production processes, to ensure a high equipment uptime, high manpower efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Change Management: Evaluate change impacts on production processes, feedback in time change driven costs, implement changes according to provided timing
  • Project Management: Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and support to the team, resolving complex engineering problems and ensuring compliance with Automotive industry standards and regulations.
  • Safety and Quality: Ensure the team maintains a safe working environment and adheres to quality standards, procedures, and regulations.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented.


Who we are looking for:

  • Experience in serial production environment, as well as Prototype and pre-series builds.
  • Experience in Product life-cycle management
  • Experience with large and complex engineering projects
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously


Your preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in managing teams across multiple sites.
