Job Description Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor will be accountable for overseeing the maintenance programs of the site, elaborating preventive and predictive maintenance plans for machinery and equipment, as well as providing corrective and emergency maintenance for the site. Will establish key indicators for maintenance as well as ensure all records and metrics are maintained appropriately. In this role, responsibilities will also include CAPEX management and coordination of construction work on the site as well as overseeing and managing contractors for maintenance services. Will develop and maintain technical documentation for maintenance activities and will be responsible for maintaining and controlling legally required maintenance documentation, such as Electrical and Mechanical Integrity. Although normal work schedule will be Monday through Friday; alternate work scheduling is to be expected to accommodate emergencies, holidays, or other maintenance needs as they arise. Incumbent will be responsible to participate in scheduled, hold over, and / or call out overtime assignments.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Program and coordinate maintenance services of machine and equipment, involving construction projects, layout adjustments, electrical, mechanical, civil, structural and piping works;
  • Troubleshooting of failures on machines, equipment and systems, proposing and implementing solutions, corrective and preventive action to maintain and improve the reliability of plant systems.
  • Sustain mechanical integrity compliance year over year.
  • Program along with Site Management and Production Supervisor for plant shutdowns whenever needed for preventive/corrective maintenance activities.
  • Implement and maintain work procedures for corrective and preventive maintenance, reviewing and ensuring they are updated and accurate.
  • Supervise the receiving and inspection of materials and equipment related to maintenance and plant projects;
  • Manage contractors and maintain records of worked hours for maintenance services performed on the plant, such as calibration of instruments, electrical, civil, mechanical and others as needed;
  • Develop and maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment and instruments information and manuals; using existing and new systems and methodologies;
  • Develop and maintain key indicators for maintenance activities and ensure they are tracked, as well as its deviations.
  • Develop and maintain records required by legal requirements for the Mechanical Integrity program, as well as maintain appropriate documentation of other legal requirements related to equipment, pressure vessels and electrical installations;
  • Responsible for the electrical installations of the site, as well as for keeping all documentation updated as required by NR-10;
  • Provide training to contractors and employees regarding maintenance work procedures.
  • Lead maintenance budget planning for the site maintenance as well as control costs and implement and maintain maintenance cost reports;
  • Supervise and control an adequate level of spare parts for maintenance.Lead CAPEX management at site level, work closely with Project Managers and collaborate in effective management of projects.
  • Develop and execute the equipment criticality and care plans and participate in the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Safety reviews for new and existing projects
  • Manage plant process control strategy, architecture, and systems. Lead integration efforts when required to implement standardized control systems.
  • Provides problem solving and support of plant equipment including process control systems.
  • Lead people, including a clear succession and development plan for the maintenance team. Secure resources to perform the functions as needed for the site.
  • It is required that employee has availability for national and international travel.

Training

  • Must pass company-supplied training programs within reasonable timeframe in order to maintain employment. May include operating / maintenance / HSE procedures, etc.
  • Will provide training to contractors and employees related to Maintenance Work Processes and Inspection Procedures.

Additional Job Description

Desirable:  5 years of Maintenance experience. Ability to coordinate Industrial Maintenance Programs applying best industry practices, as well as dealing with multiple contractors at the site.

Education: B.S. degree in Engineering required, preferred on Electrical Engineering Other Engineering fields, such as Automation and Mechanical may be accepted.

Ability to learn regulatory requirements: Functionally understands and applies regulatory and company practices, standards, procedures, etc.   Individually responsible for personal performance.

Teamwork: Must work well with co-workers, supervision, contractors, maintenance, operations, etc.

Communication skills: Able to communicate effectively with all Plant Functions, in all operational matters. Able to use computerized maintenance management, time keeping, training systems. Able to communicate in English both by written and orally.

Personal/Team: Responsible for personal performance in contributing to success of the organization.  Cooperative at all levels.

Safety: Demonstrates an understanding of HSE regulations. Is responsible for personal application of HSE policies, regulations, etc. in performing other job duties. Must be able to perform job wearing required PPE.
