Role Summary: As an GL Accounting Supervisor, you will lead a team of accountants in assigned US GAAP accounting, including accruals, account reconciliation, recurring journal entries, consolidation, ad-hoc queries, and adjustments. You lead the team in month-end closings, reconciliations, and audit processes.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Be responsible for overall control for accounting (GL, AP, AR, FA, Sales, COS, Inventory, etc) for both PUMP and SEAL.
- Oversee and coordinate day-to-day transactions.
- Be responsible for monthly / quarterly and annual closing and account reconciliations in Blackline.
- Provide accurate and timely accounting and financial reporting data in compliance with Japan GAAP, US GAAP and Flowserve policy.
- Develop the accounting staffs to strengthen the organization further and create a motivating environment.
- Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit.
- Lead quarterly financial result analysis for fluctuation between last quarter, last year (QTD and YTD).
- Make recommendations for potential solutions and improvements.
- Partner effectively with the Finance Controller to drive financial results.
- Support capital requisition procedure.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Accounting or related fields
- More than 8 years of experience in accounting for an international manufacturing environment.
- Experience in managing a team.
- Knowledge of ERP system is a must (Oracle or SAP is preferred)
- Knowledge of US GAAP and Local GAAP
- Strong communication, interpersonal and team player skills to maintain good relationship with key stakeholders.
- Communication in English and Japanese (Fluency in English both verbal and written)
- Advanced skills in Word, Excel (VLOOKUP and Pivot tables are must) or powerpoint.
- Solid logical thinking and problem-solving skills with a comprehensive attitude of proactiveness, innovativeness and prudence.
