The Supervising Senior Accountant supports the accounting department by providing daily, one-on-one support for employees, and oversees all processes within a functional work group. This role acts as a critical resource for both accounting staff and management by acting as a shared resource.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervises direct reports by providing training, coaching, and feedback to accounting staff
- Acts as project manager for assigned work group efficiency initiatives
Job Specifications
- Assists manager in evaluating performance and developing accounting staff
- Reviews journal entries, reconciliations, work products, etc. produced by accounting staff
- Monitors key metrics related to work group and provides direction to staff
- Communicates issues and proposes solutions to manager
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Two to three years of accounting experience
- Automated accounting systems and integrated software program experience
- Employee support experience is preferred
