Summer Intern Program duration: June 2 – August 8, 2025.

The role will provide an opportunity to perform meaningful legal work on a variety of issues in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You will have the opportunity to work with attorneys across the Webster Legal Department supporting and advising the array of bank business lines, enabling you to gain a stronger understanding of the legal profession in the banking industry.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform substantive legal research, writing, drafting and/or project-based work in the following areas:

Corporate Secretary/Governance/Shareholder Services

Bank Regulatory
-
Corporate Securities Filings
-
Vendor contracts
-
IP, Privacy & Cyber
-
Risk/Legal Operations
-
Litigation
-
Residential & Consumer Lending
-
Commercial Lending & Payments
Attend internal meetings with departments across the bank and interface with management, other legal staff, and Webster colleagues.
With supervision by a senior attorney, may be given responsibility for:

Generating first draft analyses of developing issues or responses to inquiries;

Developing written presentations to Webster colleagues;

Drafting Legal Department procedures or process documents;

Reviewing existing contracts for material information and input into contract management system; and
-
Developing reporting from legal billing software solution.
Work on other tasks as appropriate to support the Webster legal team where needed.
Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements for Interns:

Current undergraduate rising Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited college or university who is pursuing a degree in related field and has an interest in the banking/financial services industry

The estimated hourly range for this position is $20/hour USD to $22/hour USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
