JOB SUMMARY
Serves as a financial resource at the Foundation. The finance fund administration interacts with Administrative Liaisons and Fund Users that creates an atmosphere of trust and expertise in the representation of financial and fund information. They support the strategic financial planning and budgeting processes at the Foundation. The finance fund administration serves as a Foundation financial resource to development and other fund users. They communicate in a positive manner the requirements and controls necessary to monitor and maintain compliance with fund restrictions to the Foundation and other fund users.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
- Serves as financial expert for the BSW Foundations with the ability to interpret and communicate Foundation fund use and operations in a professional manner to administrators, physicians, and donors.
- Participates in monthly review and variance analysis of BSW Foundations financial statements to ensure completeness, accuracy, and relevance. Supervises monthly 7-day close process for BSW Foundations.
- Publishes monthly financial reports by the 15th of each month and works with the VP Foundation - Finance to present information to leadership and Foundation boards and committees.
- Monitors and interprets available funding and fund use for administrators, Foundation development/ops, and others. Identifies and prepares multi-year funding plans for service lines.
- Prepares necessary fund balance, use, and growth information to be discussed with service line leaders, donors, and other interested parties.
- Participates in strategic financial planning and budget process at the BSW Foundations, including gathering and developing the information for fund distributions to BSW entities, BSW Foundation operations, and uploading information in Kaufman Hall and Financial Edge.
- Ensure Foundation staff understand financial information, attest to the information, and respond to Foundation finance informational requests and needs.
- Support and enhance BSW Foundation's financial analytical efforts by interpreting dashboards and other ad hoc reporting.
- Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional, and courteous manner.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
- Advanced knowledge and history of use of Blackbaud Software, including Financial Edge and Raiser's Edge.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), emphasis on Excel.
- Business reporting skills and experience in creating dashboards, interpreting results, and communicating financial information.
- Skills in reporting, especially experience in Power BI or Smartsheet.
- Date and analytically driven.
- Detail oriented and good organizational skills
