Title: Subcontracts Lead

Position Type: Full-Time/Exempt

Pay Range: $117,000-$140,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data)

About the role: As the Subcontracts Lead, you will be responsible for reviewing, preparing, and managing contracts and subcontracts across various programs, with a focus on both U.S. Government and commercial contracts. This role demands strong expertise in managing subcontractor performance, cost, legal compliance, and schedule adherence. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Program Management, Operations, Procurement, Quality, and Finance. Your insights and advice will help mitigate contractual risks and drive the resolution of complex issues alongside Program Management.

We are looking for a Subcontracts Lead that will support the following programs:

  • INCUS: NASA has selected Tendeg to deliver four Ka-band deployable antennas for a new Earth science mission called Investigation of Convective Updrafts (INCUS) that will study the behavior of tropical storms and thunderstorms, including their impacts on weather and climate models. https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/nasa-selects-new-mission- to-study-storms-impacts-on-climate-models
  • 2-axis Gimbal Antennas: Tendeg has multiple contracts to develop, fabricate, test and deliver flight units for deployable high gain antennas from X-band to Q/V-band. These are for sensor and communication missions for LEO, MEO and lunar applications.
  • Perimeter Truss Reflectors: Tendeg has multiple contracts to deliver large aperture antennas for GEO communications, SAR, and national security.

What you'll do:

  • Assist in drafting and reviewing Justifications & Approvals for sole-source procurements.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to implement Master Service Agreements for suppliers.
  • Develop, negotiate, and manage subcontracts and various other agreements, ensuring alignment with Company and program requirements.
  • Review, execute, and maintain company Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
  • Create solicitations and evaluate supplier proposals for compliance with terms, conditions, FAR/DFARS flow-downs, pricing, schedules, and technical specifications.
  • Advise on contractual rights and obligations, ensuring alignment with legal and business interests.
  • Review and assess the risk associated with contractual terms, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Ensure subcontract compliance with public law, Company policies, and applicable regulations (FAR/DFARS, ITAR, import/export laws).
  • Maintain subcontract files throughout the contract lifecycle, ensuring all documentation is up to date.
  • Execute export transaction screenings, anti-boycott compliance, End Use/End User certifications, and ensure compliance with export control regulations (EAR/ITAR).
  • Draft communications and memorandums that effectively communicate business positions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Subcontracts or Contracts management, with a focus on government contracts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education).
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and experience with government contracts.
  • Experience managing multiple contract types and familiarity with subcontract negotiation, administration, and compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with import/export regulations (ITAR/EAR)
  • Experience in defense and/or aerospace industries
  • Commercial contracts experience
