The Structures Liaison Engineer/MRB evaluates and resolves a variety of engineering-related problems as they pertain to Manufacturing, both at our suppliers or internally. The successful candidate will analyze engineering specifications, drawings, and models for requirements and design intent. They will confer with Quality, Design Engineering, M&P, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to provide and obtain technical information and give guidance to Manufacturing. The Liaison Engineer/MRB investigates defective, damaged, malfunctioning, or non-conforming parts, assemblies, equipment, or systems and assists in determining the dispositions of the discrepancies. Additionally, they will develop standard repair procedures for commonly occurring non-conformances.


This position requires up to 40% travel to Beta's Production Facility in South Burlington, Vermont.



How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Review engineering documentation and NCRs to determine the disposition of composite or metal aircraft components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and facilitate correction of errors on drawings and documents identified during manufacturing operations.
  • Serve as a member of the MRB team to determine the disposition of defective, damaged, or otherwise non-conforming parts.
  • Provide technical consultation and drawing interpretation to all areas of the manufacturing facility and external vendors/suppliers.
  • Provide documentation of discrepancies and repairs to cover correction actions taken
  • Drive development of standard repair processes
  • Develop expertise with all Beta and industry specs (i.e. hardware, consumables) and act as a coordinating role between design/M&P/Stress teams to communicate adequate dispositions 

Minimum Qualifications We are seeking:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering
  • 5+ years of related professional experience
  • Aerospace MRB experience
  • Mastery of 3D CAD software (Catia/ENOVIA preferred) 
  • Self-starter and motivation to see solutions executed to completion
  • Extensive knowledge of composite structures is a major asset
  • Ability to travel to Vermont frequently

Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:

  • Experience with various manufacturing techniques and products
  • Rapid prototyping or aircraft building experience

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders and/or stairs
  • Ability to position self for inspection including confined, elevated, and loud noise spaces
  • Ability to position self to move and/or transfer materials, equipment and/or supplies
  • Ability to use tools, equipment, and technology necessary to do the job. This includes dexterity in instrument manipulation
  • Medium work: may involve long portions of time on feet
