The Structural Engineer coordinates closely with the Piping, Mechanical, and Electrical groups to design foundations, structures and pipe racks required to support process equipment, process piping, instrumentation and power cable trays, and electrical equipment. Work will also include the design of superstructures and foundations for platforms, walkways and other elevated structures.
The Structural Engineer reports to the Senior Structural Engineer. Completed technical work is reviewed by senior management before being presented to the client.
The Structural Engineer should be comfortable visiting clients’ facilities and performing physical work such as walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing stairs/ladders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on concrete, steel and foundation design coursework, advanced degree a plus
- EIT certification
- 3 or more years of experience in an engineering role
- Working knowledge of AISC and ACI design codes
- Experience in the design of steel and concrete structures
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Proficient in the use of structural analysis software
- Understanding of Advance Steel or Revit programs is a plus
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Attention to detail, highly organized and performance of self-checking of work
