Your mission during this flight:

  • Prepare stress analyses of structural parts, including classical analyses, Finite Element techniques, and hand calculations
  • Write and check full stress analysis reports
  • Ensure that the aircraft structure is certifiable by following state of the art stress analysis methods
  • Execute trade-off studies to validate design solutions
  • Drawing reviews
  • Guiding and mentoring (technically) junior engineers
  • Supporting testing activities all along the test pyramid and flight/ground test activities. EWOs, and non-conformity reports (NCR)
  • Evaluate & challenge design concepts to deliver optimal structures to ensure safety, manufacturability, maintainability, inspectability etc.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical / Vehicle Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 - 4 years in a Stress Engineer role in a professional aerospace environment
  • Solid experience with stress analyses of composite materials (mandatory)
  • Knowledge of metal and composite manufacturing processes, testing and production deviations
  • Basic knowledge of aerospace requirements and standards like CS-23, CS-27, SC-VTOL
  • Good knowledge of a typical structural analysis tools (preferably Patran / Nastran and Altair pack) and PLM system (preferably TeamCenter).
  • Ability to develop basic code with VBA, python, etc.
  • Strong English language skills (German is not required)
