12News, the NBC affiliate in Phoenix, Arizona, is looking for an editor and digital producer to take our streaming product to the next letter. We’re serious and aggressive about streaming – we launched three new streaming program in January and will be launching five more in March. After that? The sky’s the limit, but we know that our future is in streaming.
This position will produce and edit content throughout the week. Some work as a digital producer writing for our website and app will also be part of the duties.
Streaming content’ can be breaking news content that we’re livestreaming or it could be some of the shows and specials that we produce. You’ll also be working to optimize our YouTube content and help cut and create social content. As a digital producer, you’ll be responsible for writing breaking news stories and making sure that our website and social channels are enticing and informative for audiences.
What you’ll get out of it is a front seat to history and the chance to reach new audiences with great content. You’ll have the tools that you need to make high-quality programming. And you’ll learn a lot about streaming and programming in the process.
This is a news position, so you need at least two years of experience in a commercial or non-profit newsroom newsroom. You also need at least two years of video editing experience in a non-linear editing program.
Minimum qualifications
At least two years working in a commercial or non profit newsroom.
A bachelor’s degree in journalism or communications or the equivalent experience.
At least two years of editing on non-linear editing programs.
The ability to pass a timed writing test.
