About the Position

DFC’s Office of the Chief Executive (OCE) and the Office of Investments (OI) is seeking a Strategy Data Analytics Associate consultant with a background in data management and analytics, for example in government, management consulting, international development, finance, or a related field, to conduct analyses on data of DFC’s historical and current pipeline transactions to help set and track annual planning metrics and targets – critical internal goals for the agency's investment activities. This Associate shall serve as an innovator, providing the organization with the help it needs to continually evolve in order to remain competitive and achieve its strategic goals. To stay ahead of the curve, the organization seeks a Data Analytics Associate who can provide specialized expertise and utilize their skills to drive agency success.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a critical database of historical and current pipeline transactions at DFC, incorporating multiple data sources throughout the agency.
  • Perform analyses on this data to support DFC in setting annual planning metrics and targets.
  • Track metrics and targets throughout the fiscal year.
  • Maintain and update underlying database of historical and current pipeline data pulling from multiple sources like Insight, Oracle, and elsewhere.
  • Ensure any updates to Insight guidance or other coding is reflected in historical and current pipeline data.
  • Support Strategy team in ongoing data management efforts by performing baseline analyses to determine the impact of potential changes to Insight guidance.
  • Engage working-level colleagues in investment origination offices, the Office of the Chief Operating Officer (OCOO), the Office of Financial and Portfolio Management (OFPM), the Office of Development Policy (ODP), and elsewhere to incorporate additional datasets into master database on a periodic basis.
  • Perform analyses on historic and existing pipeline of deals to inform:
  • Maintain and update slides produced by the Strategy team for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), biweekly sector pipeline reviews, monthly CEO dashboards, and other analyses related to DFC pipeline, annual planning targets, and tracking metrics throughout the year
  • Draft takeaways to share with leadership during QBRs and other reviews
  • Identify potential coding and other errors in relevant datasets and follow up with relevant colleagues to ensure that errors are corrected
  • In collaboration with colleagues, perform front end analysis to identify and assess intervention opportunities, based on country and sector strategies, market conditions, barrier analysis and investment potential.
  • Analyze sector and regulatory reforms that are needed to unlock opportunities for private investment.
  • Identify successful business model trends relevant to emerging markets which have the potential to be replicated in target countries, or sectors.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree or Master’s Degree in related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in related field with 3 years of direct experience within the last 5 years.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Direct experience working with development finance institutions (DFI)

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Active secret clearance
  • Direct experience working with development finance institutions (DFI) – includes DFC, World Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC), and/or Asian Development Bank (ADB).
  • Knowledge and skill in formulating and recommending new policies, processes or strategies. Ability to communicate with skill both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective and cooperative working relationship with representatives internally and externally to DFC.
  • Knowledge of management and organizational principles and practices along with knowledge of planning, programming, prioritizing, and skill in gathering data and preparing reports for formal review and analysis.

Work Location and Hours: Work is primarily performed at the DFC office at 1100 New York Ave NW. Washington D.C. 20527. Hours are between 09:00am to 5:45pm; 20 hours/week.

Period of Performance: The period of performance for this contract is Base Period ends on 07/02/2025. There is an Option Period 1: 07/02/2025 - 01/02/2026 that is contingent upon modification to exercise.
