Strategic Project Specialist
We are seeking to recruit a Strategic Project Specialist, financial professional who possesses general financial knowledge, particularly in the area of management reports such as Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, familiar with Close & Control and Planning & Forecasting processes. In this pivotal strategic role, you will be responsible for continuously enhancing our reporting portfolio across various technologies, including SAP BI, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), S4Hana and Power BI. Your role will include overseeing the development and execution of special projects, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives, and promoting innovation and efficiency in reporting processes.
Key responsibilities include effective stakeholder management, requiring close collaboration with senior leaders and key stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure their requirements are met. You will also engage with the Global Reporting Governance Committee to uphold and enhance reporting standards and practices throughout the organization.
As a Strategic Project Specialist, you will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering the BI and reporting strategy. Working together with the Strategic Project Lead, you will build and refine the strategy, ensuring its successful implementation while promoting the growth and continuous improvement of the BI portfolio.
Responsibilities:
• Actively support the S/4HANA transformation from the perspective of the BI reporting portfolio. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that BI reporting solutions are aligned with the new S/4HANA framework, facilitating seamless integration and enhanced reporting capabilities.
• Overseen the entire project development lifecycle by meticulously gathering requirements from stakeholders and proactively proposing innovative improvement ideas. Focus intently on the Strategy, Analysis, and Design phases, while ensuring seamless delivery and continuous support throughout the extended development cycle, culminating in successful deployment to the end stakeholders.
• Engage with stakeholder groups to identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and enhance management reporting, ensuring their needs are understood and met.
• Explore and implement AI solutions for BI reporting to enhance data analysis, predictive analytics, and decision-making capabilities, ensuring that the organization leverages cutting-edge technology to achieve superior reporting outcomes.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting platforms from a functional level.
• Oversee the development and execution of Strategic Projects, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives. Align project initiatives with the North Star strategy and drive inorganic growth, fostering innovation and efficiency in reporting processes.
• Facilitate and improve development cycles by implementing best practices, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of transformation innovations, and making certain that requested changes are cohesive and seamlessly integrated with the existing portfolio.
• Actively support the S/4HANA transformation from the perspective of the BI reporting portfolio. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that BI reporting solutions are aligned with the new S/4HANA framework, facilitating seamless integration and enhanced reporting capabilities.
• Assess other reporting organizations and propose support strategies to achieve economies of scale across GSK.
• Engage with the Global Reporting Governance Committee to discuss resource allocation, project prioritization, and uphold reporting standards and practices across the organization.
• Conduct regular reviews of BI solutions to ensure they meet business requirements.
• Monitor industry trends and innovations to keep the organization at the forefront of BI technology.
• Lead the concept of self-service BI offerings for end-users.
In this role, your ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams, coupled with your deep understanding of BI technologies and stakeholder management, will be critical to driving impactful changes and achieving excellence in reporting processes.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.

Proven track record of managing strategic projects and driving innovation plus fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders.

Strong understanding of financial principles and how they relate to BI and analytics

Strong functional knowledge of BI tools and platforms such as Power BI, SAC, SAP BW, SAP BI, S/4 HANA

Proven ability to identify and evaluate data sources that can be leveraged to meet business reporting and analytics needs.

Experience in ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and reliability while integrating data from multiple sources.

Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications.

Proficiency in advanced data visualization techniques and storytelling through data

Proven ability to articulate and quantify the business value of BI initiatives to stakeholders.

Strong experience in developing business cases and ROI analyses for BI projects.

Ability to track and measure the impact of BI solutions on business performance and key metrics.

Demonstrated success in aligning BI initiatives with strategic business objectives to drive value. Ability to create and manage a BI value management framework.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
