The Opportunity:

We are seeking a talented Strategic Consultant who will provide specialized strategic consulting services to financial services executives to assist them in offering competitive products, services, solutions and experiences that will optimize their growth, financial returns, operational efficiency and member/customer satisfaction.  The individual delivers strategic solutions, financial services expertise and strategies that financial institutions can leverage to achieve their business goals, capitalize on opportunities and solve problems.  This is be done via thought leadership, data-driven analysis, articulating past experience, and delivering creative strategic recommendations. 

Day in the Life:

  • Lead and execute­ consulting engagements across the Velera client ecosystem, from initiation to conclusion.
  • Interact efficiently, proactively and responsively with staff and senior/executive leaders, both internally and externally. 
  • Develop recommendations and influence senior/executive leaders to make appropriate business and investment decisions based on those recommendations.  Recognize unique differences in management philosophy and culture of each client.
  • Exercise discretion & sound judgement and interact effectively/professionally with all levels of personnel, clients and vendor partners.
  • Lead comprehensive research and analysis of client product/service or operational performance covering aspects of specialty consulting area of expertise – including product design, pricing, marketing, sales effectiveness, account management, operations, risk management, P&L performance, benchmarking, analytics, digital and mobile solutions, marketplace infrastructure, third-party software interfaces, etc.
  • Generate analyses / outputs as needed to analyze and benchmark potential product and portfolio management opportunities to improve growth, revenue, efficiency and profitability.
  • Provide direction to internal teams with respect to all faces of area of specialized consulting expertise.
  • Responsibility for all aspects of each engagement including, but not limited to: negotiating scope, terms and price through a Statement of Work, data collection, analysis, client meetings, presentation preparation & delivery and post-mortem survey analysis. 
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of trends and developments within the financial services industry.
  • Deliver on thought leadership opportunities through blogs, white papers, speaking engagements, digital media (e.g., video, website and social media) and other outlets.
  • Provide strategic expertise internally for division and corporate projects and strategic client sales and retention efforts, as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Seven (7) years of experience in professional roles involving strategic consultation, strategy development, guidance, education or providing strategic recommendations for improvement, directed toward financial institution executives.

  • Seven (7) years of direct departmental and/or product line P&L responsibility in a bank or credit union including financial forecasting, budget development & accountability, product delivery & enhancements and marketing.

Pay Equity

$110,100.00

to

$143,100.00

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
