The Leidos Intelligence Group has an opening for a fully cleared Strategic Communications Specialist who is seeking a rewarding and challenging opportunity for an Intelligence Community (IC) customer in Northern Virginia.  This is a new position with tremendous opportunity for personal and professional growth, an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting an important mission in the National Security arena.  In this position, you will serve as a Health Communication Specialist responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of major complex health communication strategy encompassing the individual needs of a diverse population segments to support strategy.

Primary Responsibilities

The Strategic Communications Specialist will:

  • Plans and execute comprehensive communication strategies in alignment within the customer objectives through delivery.

  • Plans and create engaging ideas for written and relevant health material to be presented in a variety of formats (e.g. placemats, reports, web-based materials, email messaging, publications).

  • Identify and introduce methods of delivery, communication channels, modes, and approaches that will effectively engage officers and family members based on target population segment needs, utility, and access to technology and communication channels.

  • Plans strategy for development of content management processes to ensure accurate, relevant and timely information under the guidance of the customer.

  • Develop message maps, story boards, and scripts as needed to ensure the appropriate tone, content, and delivery of information that reflects the Culture of the Customer to achieve strategic goals and objectives.

  • Establish and evaluation strategy that allows for continual process improvement and a focus on impact measurement across the Customer’s diverse workforce, with specific focus of the target population segments.

  • Work closely with the partners, communication partners, and customers (directorates, mission centers, enterprise functions) to develop a comprehensive approach to communications that ensure strong integration across platforms and initiatives to ensure strong reach and engagement.

  • Responsibilities include obtaining the appropriate information for service requests and providing any additional assistance necessary to meet the needed requirements.

  • The Communications Specialist shares responsibility for working cooperatively with all team members.

  • Demonstrates the ability to establish a rapport with customers; including the ability to create and sustain a positive relationship; regardless of circumstances or environment.

  • Ability to understand and explain the services offered by the office and the unique qualifications of the staff that support in this area.

  • Demonstrated superior communications.

Basic Qualifications

  • TS/SCI with polygraph clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12-15+ years of relevant experience, or 5 additional years of experience in lieu of degree

  • Excellent verbal and communication skills with the ability to communicate concepts to a variety of audiences, both in person and in writing

  • Strong interpersonal skills, collaboration and teambuilding skills, and the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.

  • Ability to build relationships with multiple teams to support cross collaboration.

  • Ability to work well under pressure with strong customer service skills.

  • Keen flexibility and creativity; ability to identify and respond to evolving priorities and identify solutions to problems.

  • Strong organizational skills, sound judgement, and flexibility to adapt and adjust to changing priorities.

  • Ability to plan, set goals, and determine strategies for accomplishing results, as well as monitor, evaluate and report on progress towards goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have a strong background in public health, understanding health communications principles with excellent writing skills.

Pay Range:Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
