Position Summary: The Store Planning Specialist is responsible for location deployment, space planning, and all related project management. The project specialist oversees and facilitates new store openings and location moves, by coordinating with internal teams, and vendors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Correspond with field management teams for all store locations and vendors to support operational store functions.
  • Review and approve service provider quotes. Oversee services provided from inception to billing.
  • Utilize real estate software for market research, lease analysis, and space selection.
  • Perform site selection for current and future locations. Intake all necessary information and measurements in each potential location by recording multiple data points per space. This includes, but is not limited to; measuring clear heights, taking space dimensions, charting pain points, and noting space conditions.
  • Prepare lease offers and negotiate terms for each lease.
  • Responsible for space planning related to the expansion of Leaf Home product lines in new and existing markets.
  • Responsible for communications and updates to personnel for new and existing store updates.
  • Coordinate with multiple internal teams throughout the organization to complete new and existing store openings.
  • Coordinate, communicate, and complete store service requests for over 200 locations.
  • Manage store openings, lease renewals, and relocations for all Leaf Home offices.
  • Coordinate and schedule all services and furniture for new locations. Maintain furniture and fixtures in existing locations.
  • When necessary, travel to new locations to manage and perform all tasks necessary to open new spaces or relocate existing offices.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings for issue resolution, process improvements, and timeline discussions for new, remodel, expansion, and projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Experience and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 2+ years in real estate, project management, or facility maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using project management software.
  • Proficiency in CAD or related floor plan software.
  • Able to leverage information and data to solve business problems, initiate improvements, and increase efficiency.
  • Ability to juggle various work activities and shift their attention from one task to another to meet the demands of different stakeholders without "dropping the ball."
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-oriented environment and have a "roll up your sleeves" and "win every day" mentality.
  • Hold oneself accountable and responsible while being self-driven in accomplishing goals.
  • Detail-oriented and can focus on the task at hand by finding the most efficient and effective pathway to completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels to communicate with internal and external stakeholders articulately.
  • Ability to logically connect ideas, scrutinize and evaluate arguments, find inconsistencies and errors in work, solve complex problems, and engage in reflection.
  • Ability to provide timely and empathetic service through all communication channels keeping peer and customer needs first.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or Access).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Certifications:

  • Able to leverage information and data to solve business problems, initiate improvements, and increase efficiency.


Travel Requirements:

  • More than 50% domestic (U.S. & Canada) travel required.


Overtime/Additional Hours Requirements:

  • Additional hours may be required (exempt positions).


Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Performs indoor work in a climate-controlled environment.
  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
