The team is responsible for delivering leading network services that enable teams to work anywhere, anytime and anyway to achieve leading business outcomes. We are responsible for connectivity end to end across the entire CBA branch & corporate network environment covering Australia.
The team is embarking on an exciting network transformation program involving SDWAN with a complete change of the network topology to enrich the network experiences of CBA employees.
As a member of the Workplace and Workforce network team you will be leading the development, design, and operation of network services. You are expected to contribute to roadmaps and continually evolve how network services are delivered and use your experience to support & troubleshoot user impacting incidents.

The Workplace and Workforce network team in CBA Technology is responsible for world-leading network technology and operations across Commbank supporting our workforce across Australia and international locations.

You will be reporting to the Engineering Manager/Chapter Lead with the autonomy to develop and learn in the role. You will be required to bring your best self to ensure the network services across the Network portfolio is best in class.

Develop reusable solutions according to current software and hardware trends.

Automate networks by understanding and improving processes.

Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance for skill enhancement.

Configure and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

Tech Skills:
We use various tools, languages, and frameworks, and do not expect you to know them all. However, having experience in networking fundamentals, network automation, and technical leadership will help you succeed on this team. Network Engineering Fundamentals: Comprehensive understanding of networking concepts, including Routing and Switching, and Wireless.

Programming and Scripting: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and scripting languages like Bash. This includes writing reusable and maintainable code.

Network Automation Tools: Experience with automation tools and platforms such as Ansible, Puppet, and pyATS.

APIs and RESTful Services: Knowledge of RESTful APIs and how to integrate them into network automation workflows.

CI/CD Pipeline and DevOps Practices: Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, APIs, and automation scripts. Utilise Python and PowerShell scripting for automation.

Advanced Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.

Design and Architecture: Experience with enterprise network design and implementation. Create key network artifacts including Test Cases and both high-level and detailed designs.

Network Operation: Oversee network performance and health. Manage and maintain network configuration. Handle incident and problem management, performance monitoring and reporting. Execute SDWAN monitoring and Runbook tasks. Oversee change management.

Willingness to work in rostered after-hours on-call support.
