About the role

Flex’s core consumer product/business continues to grow extremely fast, and we’re working to set up our next phase of growth. As we scale up our development efforts across multiple products, we are hiring our first technical program manager (TPM) to help lead the charge.

This is a hybrid position with on-site expectations of 3 days per week in our New York Headquarters. For candidates outside of the NY/NJ area, you may be eligible for our relocation assistance program.

What you’ll do

You will serve as the technical program manager for a multi-PM, multi-eng team consumer product portfolio and rearchitecture effort. You will:

  • Program manage one or more large scale product development efforts, partnering with multiple PMs and Eng teams to land critical software on time with high quality
  • Structure project(s) into clear scopes of ownership, identify critical risks and tradeoffs and run these to resolution, and elevate critical decisions to leadership where required
  • Work directly with both tactical stakeholders (Engineering, Product, Design), partner functions (CS, Legal/Compliance, Marketing) and executives (CEO, CPO, CTO) to resolve dependencies, communicate progress, and identify opportunities for acceleration. 
  • Track and communicate progress around the development efforts you manage
  • ​​Facilitate planning sessions, retrospectives, and decision-making forums that keep teams focused and aligned.
  • Help define what great program management looks like at Flex, setting the foundation for future TPMs as we grow.

After this initial phase, you will swing into our next major technical program challenge.

Key qualifications

  • Program management: 5+ years of experience as a technical program manager, including driving large scale product builds with cross functional teams across Product Management, Design, Engineering, and Data/Analytics
  • Technical: You are able to develop, iterate on, execute, and deliver a product roadmap and associated large scaled builds from concept → pilot → scaled landing (including migration), managing across multiple teams. Experience with agile and scrum helpful but not required.
  • Analytical horsepower: You dig deep into the data, think from first principles, and deliver the right results
  • Communication: You have high attention to detail including precise and effective communication with senior stakeholders
  • Tooling: You have perspective on, and experience with, documentation best practices. Expertise with Notion is a plus. 
  • Scrappy: You are eager to wear multiple hats as a leader and a “doer”, who will do what is required to land impact for Flex customers at high quality rapidly.  
  • Pace: You want a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment associated with a rapidly growing company

The compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.

For working locations in NY/NJ/CA, the base salary pay range will be $ 239,000 - $262,000
