Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
Play the primary role of Release Train Engineer for entire WHXR Women Health & Xray Global Software organization with following responsibilities:
- Coach the lean-agile mindset and practices to members of the agile release train, including scrum masters, agile team members and business owners
- Optimise the flow of work through the agile release train
- Capture programme flow metrics, and other useful metrics, to support relentless improvement
- Help the product manager prepare for PI Planning and ensure the vision, roadmap and programme backlogs are ready
- Liaise with other stakeholders such as Product leaders and People leaders for everything related to the execution of the software development projects.
- Help teams with feature estimation and the aggregation of estimates for larger pieces of work such as capabilities and epics
- Help manage risks, dependencies and resolve impediments
- Support the creation, and relentless improvement, of a continuous delivery pipeline by promoting DevOps practices within the organization
Play the role of Install Base Software Program Manager with following responsibilities:
- Own software development programs utilizing proven methodologies in SW Program Management e.g. PMI ACP, Agile/SAFe, PMP etc.
- Manage schedule, budget, quality, risks, engineering gate reviews & report respectively
- Create and maintain detailed program plans, holding the responsible parties accountable to deadlines, maintaining risk logs, leading project meetings, and providing regular and timely updates to key stakeholders.
- Represent the software teams in front of program/product team and facilitate collaboration between software & system teams
- Co-ordinate between software teams to ensure smooth delivery of cross-functional features, investigations, etc
- Facilitate PI planning by creating and publishing annual PI calendars, help the scrum teams prepare for the planning by coordinating between teams, support teams with the planning process and plan adjustments and setup kick off and report out meetings with relevant stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing the Inspect & Adapt process at all levels and identifying and implementing concrete actions
- Promote DevOps principles inside the organization to aid in the design and continuous enhancement of a continuous delivery pipeline, to help in building quality into the product.
Education Qualification:
- Bachelor' s Degree in Computer science or Engineering with advanced experience.
Required Skills:
- Overall industry experience of 10 + years, with at least 3 years in software program/project management
- Specific work experience as Release Train Engineer
- Hands on Software development (full cycle) experience
- Experience with AGILE methodology and SAFe.
- Exposure to Modern architecture and concepts of Microservices, Containers, DevOps and Security.
Desired Characteristics:
- PMP, Scrum Master or related Project Management certifications
- SAFe courses and Certifications
- Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
- Experience of working with team members on a global basis
- Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, creates processes with customer viewpoint
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Clear communicator who communicates in clear and succinct manner
- Data oriented - Effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions, anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve, creates actionable strategies and operational plans
- Change oriented – actively generates process improvements, champions and drives change initiatives, confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly
- Project Management certifications (Prefer PMI Agile Certifications)
