The Staff Statistician provides immediate and breakthrough data manipulation and statistical analysis across multifaceted IOPS departments to support validation, trending, and advancement of manufacturing and testing processes. They drive cross-functional process improvements through data driven root cause problem solving.
As a Staff Statistician, a typical day might include the following: :
- Employs breakthrough statistical and company knowledge for ad-hoc statistical analysis requests with a focus on results and sustainability, generating sophisticated technical reports and memos, and engaging directly with regulatory agencies
- High-level knowledge of statistical software packages (JMP, Minitab, R or SAS) and expertise in diverse statistical methods including multivariate regression, difference and equivalency testing, design of experiments, control charts
- Capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy within a team environment to identify, lead, and drive implementation of strategic deployment items
- Supports and facilitates activities associated with the Statistics Training Series, including mentoring employees enrolled in the final project
- Demonstrated experience mentoring within and outside the department on innovative statistical methodologies to deliver impactful results.
- Works towards root cause, identifies and implements strategies for process improvements, and develops appropriate proactive metrics
- Applies risk management expertise to technical challenges
- May have direct reports at this level

In order to be considered for this position, you must hold a Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or a related field and
- Principal: 8+ years of experience
- Staff: 10+ years of experience
- Senior Staff: 12+ years of experience
- May consider experience in lieu of education; level decided upon completion of an interview process
