Due to the development of John Deere Polska Business Service Center in Poznań we are currently seeking candidates for the position of:
Staff Software Engineer - SAP CPI + ABAP
Poznan, Poland
Your responsibilities:

  • Work as an active member of an Agile delivery team.
  • Lead discussions with the development team, Engineering Manager, and extended functional teams to develop technical solutions to satisfy business requirements.
  • Lead a variety of efforts related directly and indirectly to ABAP development and configuration in SAP system.
  • Lead technical analysis and design of solutions to improve quality and performance.
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution of production support issues.
  • Mentor junior developers, perform code pairing with other members of the team, and perform proper code reviews with team members.
  • Lead efforts to "modernize" legacy applications and leverage the SAP S4 HANA technology stack.
  • Provide architectural guidance for the future direction of the product team, including cloud migration/utilization.


Our requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in the design, development, testing and integration of highly complex software solutions in SAP.
  • 7+ software development and or configuration experience.
  • 7+ years of varied database experience (e.g. DB2, MongoDB, Oracle, MySQL, HANA).
  • 7+ years of experience working with multiple integrated systems.
  • Detailed understanding/experience with DevOps concepts (i.e. automation, CI/CD, TDD, etc.).
  • 2+ years of work experience in an Agile/Scrum team environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ABAP (or related) development.
  • Detailed understanding of the architecture of latest SAP technology stack.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coach and mentor junior developers and perform code reviews.
  • Excellence in verbal and written communication forms.
  • Ability to manage many competing priorities/requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Appetite for continuous learning and willingness/dedication to develop deep technical skills needed to further develop, transform, and modernize SAP-based products, processes, and solutions.


Nice to have:

  • Working understanding of design patterns and loosely coupled architectures.
  • Knowledge of SAP Central Finance, SAP S4 or SAP Analytics Cloud.
  • Functional knowledge in one or many SAP modules and/or products: FI (preferred), Treasury, SD,LES, MM, PP, PM, QM.
  • SAP BTP Services knowledge in one or more of the following:
    • Cloud Platform Integration (CPI).
    • Business Process Automation (BPA).
    • SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
  • Experience working with Kyriba, Palantir, or other Treasury related products:
    • Kyriba (Treasury, Payments, Connectivity).
    • Palantir (Data Engineering).
    • REVAL, FXALL, Accuity, SunGard, Reuters, BRMEdge, Quantitative Risk Management (QRM).
