About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Operations Manager to be a force multiplier in realizing the full potential of Aurora’s mapping operations and technology for self-driving. As a Senior Product Operations Manager, you’ll bring a blend of strategic, operational, and product experience to drive alignment across our organization, optimize operational processes, and accelerate product development velocity. You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Product Program Management, Operations, System Engineering, and more.

As a peer and mentor, you’ll help establish and reinforce best practices to promote data-driven decision making, process standardization, operational excellence, and software development support.

In this role, you will

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve efficiency and scalability of operational processes
  • Own definition and documentation of new processes, turning them into Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and working with domain owners to maintain knowledge materials
  • Draft detailed projects plans and experiments with clear objective, structure, and analytical rigor
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, and Operations to clarify product or process gaps and ensure seamless productionization of those changes
  • Leverage analytical skills and data-driven insights to identify trends, diagnose inefficiencies, and prioritize opportunities with engineering 
  • Understand technical details and mapping system requirements to develop and execute strategic plans to support new product capabilities and map expansion

Required Qualifications 

  • 3-5 years of related work experience, including production operations, product management, consulting, business operations, or tech startups
  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, ability to influence without authority across departments and build support
  • Strong analytical abilities to develop data-driven proposals and define KPIs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in communicating nuanced, and often technical concepts across variety of stakeholders
  • Proven experience in creating and driving efficient process improvements that can scale

Desirable Qualifications 

  • Experience in the Autonomous Vehicle (AV) space, ideally mapping or data annotation
  • Experience managing performance of a distributed workforce
  • Experience in data analysis and visualization using SQL or Python
  • Lean, Six Sigma, PMP, or other project / process management certification

The base salary range for this position is $108,000-$156,000 per year.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
