Position

We are seeking an experienced Staff Mobile Developer to lead our Time to Pet team as we focus on modernizing, improving and maintaining our mobile application. Our mobile app is used widely by small business owners in the pet space to manage their day-to-day operations. If you have experience with mobile feature development, maintenance, and testing, and have a passion for making great user experiences, then please consider joining our team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build new features for our mobile app
  • Collaborate with product to plan and define the implementation of new features
  • Collaborate with the web team to develop and update API endpoints
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the mobile application
  • Perform maintenance updates to stay current with changing app store policies
  • Support existing systems including troubleshooting, identifying bottlenecks, and fixing bugs
  • Perform code reviews to maintain code quality and organization
  • Develop and own our mobile quality strategy
  • Participate in an on-call Incident Response rotation

Requirements

  • Proficiency with React Native
  • Proficiency in mobile development and modern JavaScript Frameworks
  • BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years development experience in SaaS environment
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented principles, data structures and algorithms, and profiling/optimization
  • Knowledge of relational database structure, design, and basic database integration principles
  • Experience in planning, developing, testing, and delivering modern JavaScript applications
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional Agile/SCRUM environment
  • Proficiency in Git, Bitbucket or similar Source/Version management system

The salary for this role is $160,000 - $170,000 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc.

Preferred

  • Experience implementing mobile unit tests
  • Experience implementing integration tests
  • Experience with Jest, Detox, Google Analytics, Bugsnag, Firebase and Browserstack

How You Will Work

This position is based in Austin, Texas. The expectation would be to work from our office several days per week to foster close collaboration with the rest of the Time To Pet team. Our other office locations:-

  • Ann Arbor, MI
  • Scottsdale, AZ
  • Wayne, PA
