Role & Responsibilities:
The Staff Accountant, GL, is part of a GL team run by the Accounting Manager. This role has responsibility to record business transactions timely and appropriately, and fully own certain sections of the financial statements. The Staff Accountant, GL, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Fully owning the general ledger accounts within his/her responsibility (fixed assets, accruals, intangibles, prepaids, etc.) and ensuring compliance with US GAAP; calculating and explaining variance analysis
- Teaming with the Accounting Manager on ad-hoc analysis, research or corrections
- Performing ad-hoc accounting research, making recommendations for proper accounting treatment and documenting transactions
- Reading and comprehending contracts, then utilizing accounting knowledge to record the related transactions
- Supporting the external audit process, as needed
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Active CPA license or on CPA licensure track; working knowledge of US GAAP
- Minimum of 3 years accounting or +2 years auditing experience
- ERP system experience
- Strong PC skills required including proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
- Very detail oriented with strong teaming and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus
- Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus
