We're hiring a Staff Engineer to lead the architecture, development, and optimization of our platform. Who we're looking for:
A hands-on engineering leader with deep expertise in PHP and TypeScript/Angular, who excels in frontend, backend, and DevOps. You are a technical innovator who thrives on solving complex problems and building scalable, high-performance systems. You write clean, efficient code, leveraging best practices and architectural principles that stand the test of time. Your solutions are elegant, maintainable, and designed to optimize both performance and team productivity.
What you'll be doing:
Technical Leadership

• Take full ownership of key Xano features, leading development from concept to launch.
• Drive technical excellence, ensuring scalable, high-quality implementations.
• Introduce design patterns that accelerate development while reducing complexity.

Architecture & Infrastructure

• Optimize infrastructure and refine deployment processes to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
• Bring expertise or enthusiasm for Kubernetes and large-scale infrastructure orchestration.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and maintain high availability.

Observability & Performance

• Build and maintain monitoring systems for Xano's single-tenant architecture, ensuring high reliability across thousands of independent deployments.
• Diagnose and address system issues, proactively improving visibility and performance.

Mentorship & Best Practices

• Mentor engineers, improve coding practices, and foster a culture of technical excellence.
• Establish and promote best practices in software design, testing, and maintainability.
• Lead technical discussions to drive innovation and knowledge sharing across the team.

Your Competencies:
Full-Stack Expertise (5+ years)

• Our tech stack is built on modern, reliable technologies: Angular 18 with TypeScript for the frontend, PHP and Node.js driving backend services, and PostgreSQL for persistence. We use Docker containers orchestrated by Kubernetes on Google Cloud to ensure stable, isolated customer environments.

No-Code Industry Knowledge (plus)

• We are one of the few No-Code Backend platforms that integrate seamlessly with a variety of No-Code Frontends. A basic understanding of this landscape is preferred.

Basic DevOps Experience (plus)

• A key differentiator of Xano is its ability to rapidly spin up and deploy dedicated regional instances. Familiarity with this process is a plus.
