Job Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal Platform Engineer with a strong background in AWS cloud operations, Automation, Cloud Architecture, DevOps, and Security practices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), leveraging tools like GitLab, CloudFormation, Ansible, and/or Terraform to manage scalable, secure, and efficient cloud environments. AWS certifications are highly desirable, showcasing proficiency and commitment to cloud excellence .

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Operations & Architecture
    • Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure AWS cloud infrastructures.
    • Suggest and architect optimization strategies for large scale EKS platforms.
    • Optimize cloud environments for performance, cost, and scalability.
    • Develop and enforce best practices for cloud usage, monitoring, and incident management.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
    • Build and maintain automated infrastructure using tools such as Terraform , CloudFormation , Ansible , and GitLab CI/CD .
    • Write reusable, maintainable, and well-documented IaC templates.
  • Platform Engineering
    • Develop, automate, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or similar tools.
    • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless deployment and integration processes.
    • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure high system availability.
  • Security and Compliance
    • Ensure cloud infrastructure adheres to security best practices and compliance standards.
    • Implement identity and access management (IAM) policies, encryption mechanisms, and vulnerability assessments.
    • Drive security incident management and response in AWS environments.
  • Collaboration and Leadership
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, and InfoSec , IT to deliver cloud solutions.
    • Mentor junior engineers and share best practices in cloud operations and DevOps.
    • Stay updated with the latest AWS services, trends, and best practices.


Skills, Experience and Requirements

  • AWS Expertise
    • Deep understanding of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, IAM, etc.
    • Proven track record in designing, deploying, and managing production workloads on AWS.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
    • Extensive hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
    • Expertise in automating infrastructure deployment and scaling.
  • DevOps and CI/CD
    • Strong proficiency in GitLab and CI/CD pipeline development.
    • Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Security and Compliance
    • Knowledge of AWS security services and practices, including IAM, KMS, security groups, and NACLs.
    • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR) and tools like AWS Config or Trusted Advisor
  • General Skills
    • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
    • Hands on development experience in Go/NodeJS is a plus
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Educational Qualification
    • Engineering / Masters in Information, Computer, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Certifications:
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional or Associate).
    • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
    • AWS Certified Security - Specialty.
    • CKA/CKAD
  • Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Dynatrace.
